9th June 2017- Supporting the Community and local services

On the 9th of June, the Victorian Maori Wardens invited us to attend and contribute to their 3 day workshop event.

We were honored to be a part of the wonderful event provided by the Victorian Maori Wardens where the local youth were invited to participate and join in with the free 3 day event.

Dinawan Garrabari- Emu Dancers

Dinawan Garrabari- Emu Dancers

Four Winds Foundation invited Dinawan Garrabari- Emu Dancers from NSW to perform traditional Aboriginal dance at the opening of the event.

All that attended got to see some cultural diversity from our first nations people of Australia. It was a great performance and enjoyed and appreciated by all.

Anthony Dennison of Kamilaroi Nation completed the opening of the event with his Welcome to Country and then the workshop had officially begun!

Four Winds Foundation set up a boomerang painting activity that was thoroughly enjoyed by both children and adults alike. Anthony Dennison lent his artistic skills and tips to the painters on the day helping all to understand the meanings of their paintings and different techniques with different mediums.

What a fantastic day of community and sharing of cultures, family and traditions.
